WHY THERAPY?
WHY SEEK PSYCHOTHERAPY?

We all go through difficult times. It can help to talk confidentially with someone who is not involved in your day-to-day life. You may be feeling lost and unfulfilled, perhaps you're struggling with a low mood or loneliness, or finding it hard to pinpoint why you're angry and confused. You might find you're unable to articulate just what it is you are feeling, but you know that something is wrong.

Some people come for talking therapy following a distressing event such as a bereavement or separation, or to get them through a stressful time at work. Other times it's not so obvious where the difficulty lies and you need time to get to the root of things. You may just feel inquisitive about your life and relationships, and like the idea of getting to know yourself better. Whatever you want to explore, I will work with you at your own pace, in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion so that you may feel safe and supported in therapy.

ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
IMG_8803.jpg

I'm a psychotherapist-in-training at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC), and a trainee member of UKCP.  I offer low-cost therapy in central Bristol for adults. Sessions are one-to-one and in-person.

My training is humanistic and integrative, that is to say I'm informed by the empathic, person-centred therapy first developed by Carl Rogers, as well as developmental theories, such as attachment theory, and psychoanalytic theories relating to how we are shaped by our childhood and past events.

Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a trained bereavement support volunteer with CRUSE, and as a counsellor at The Swan Project in Bristol, supporting people who have an active alcohol addiction or are in recovery. I have particular experience working with anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, all sorts of change, and addiction.

I adhere to the BCPC Code of Practice and the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
